I've been an independent consultant since 1993, specializing in Actuate report design and Actuate server configuration since 1998. I am that rare programmer who doesn't just know object-oriented features of several languages but knows how to use patterns of inheritance to maximize productivity and simplify maintenance.
Since early 2004, I have been cobbling together a dot com enterprise of my own and building its web site.
Confused by terms like "Programmer/Analyst" and "Systems Engineer"? Have you seen them bandied about in conflicting contexts so you're no longer sure what others mean by them?
Well, I decided to define what I mean when I use them so that
you can understand me. If nothing else, at least you'll get an idea
of what I am capable, especially when compared to less experienced
programmers. My hope is that hiring managers will begin to realize
that a huge range of capability exists, that there's more to choosing
the right consultant than merely finding the right buzz words at the
lowest price.
Q: "What are the top 3 mistakes in software development?"
That's my answer...
The Actuate
Club asked me some questions about Actuate and my programming
experience. They posted my answers on their site.
